Doing some practice using some sketch card templates I found, thought I'd do The Blur from BEYOND HUMAN since he's my favorite, and I absolutely love the color scheme I get to work with. Still adjusting to using a tablet, it isn't easy. It's easier to keep a straight, clean line on paper because of the added friction of the pencil or pen against the paper, but the tablet's active surface is a lot smoother, which makes it more difficult to control. Still, it's all coming along.
I also figure now might be an decent time to give you a few brief insights into the project. Right now, I thought I might tell you about the subject of this sketch, The Blur. He's a college student trying to hide how much of a nerd he is, so he tends to come off as a bit of a sarcastic narcissist. When he suddenly finds out he has the power to move at the speed of sound, he has a big internal struggle on whether or not to go public with it in an effort to sort of boost his reputation and prove he's not a total loser. He tends to clash a lot with the other characters because his views on what they can do and why are more critical than the others- whereas they see that they have a chance to use their powers to better the world, he thinks that they're just wanting to be superheroes.
In other news, I'm still sore as hell from working out this weekend. I can barely move my arms and I my neck is killing me right now. Still, come Tuesday, I start Combat fitness at the gym, which is taught by a friend of mine who is also a co-worker, so I hope I can work out all the kinks by then.
