Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is the big Turkey Day! Time to get fat on so many different kinds of homemade farm foods I lose count!

The holiday season is gonna be a busy one, let me tell ya. Next weekend we start auditions for voice actors for BEYOND HUMAN, and we're working on getting hoodies for the lead cast printed. We managed to get a good deal from a local place that Sam used to work at, they say they can give us some Vinyl pressed hoodies rather than the traditional screen printed ones, so we're all pretty stoked about that! I just have to get the vectors sized up right to turn in, and then fork over about $160, and hopefully we'll have 'em done by Christmas. I'd like to have a cast and crew Xmas party at some point around then, but for now, I'm not holding my breath.

Concepts are crawling along so far- it's hard to do concepts without a proper script. Jazz and I are finding our organizational skills rather lacking, and due to my responsibilities at school and Jazz's own webcomic, Lethargic Misanthropy, we don't always have as much time to work as we'd like. Still, since we set our own deadlines, I guess it isn't too bad.

Me as the Thief and Sam as the Black Mage
In the meantime, I've been practicing drawing. I'm working on a group pic of me and a couple friends based on character classes from Final Fantasy 1 that I'm having a bit of fun with. The style isn't my own, but I liked it and it worked well with the mood of the pic, so I figured, 'Aw hell, why not?' Not like I'm trying to push it as my own original piece, it's just for fun and practice. I've learned that using the tablet for vector sucks big donkey balls, so I tend to have to sketch with the tablet in Photoshop, then move to Illustrator and use the mouse to vector inks, then back to Photoshop with the tablet for colors. I've gotten kinda used to the switching back and forth so it doesn't annoy me so much. In fact, the results ain't so bad, either. Now, really, it's just a matter of deciding how I want to do my shading. That's something I really need to work on. Seriously.

PS- Today is also my dad's 48th birthday. Happy B-day, Pop, let's hope this next year goes a lot more smoothly for us all.
