Concept Paper Chronicles 1: The Research

So for my Comp1 class, I'm writing a concept paper on Character Design for Animation. Now, at first this sounded like a fantastic idea- it's relative to my major, my interests, and it's a paper that I can generally learn from.

I'm stupid.

Do you have any idea how hard it is for a college freshman to find information on Animation when you live in the Midwest? It's hard enough to find stuff on the internet, but hardback stuff is just next to impossible. I managed to find a book on Warner Bros. animation, and a book about Peanuts by Charlie Shulz, but that's about it when it comes to stuff involving Character Design. So, any help?

(PS, I'm also hoping to fill out an application for an Animation Student scholarship soon. With last semester's grades, I doubt I'll get it, but it's damn well worth a try, right?)
